Mixing/Mastering Services

I'm always happy to take a collaborative approach when it comes to pricing discussions or else refer to the pricing below:

 

Short Dictionary (For those new to mixing/mastering):

Stems = Song stems are individual musical elements (Kick, Clap, Bass etc.) when layered together make a song.

Master = The finished recording of a full song that has been treated with dynamics, eq etc. to reach a maximal volume, which can be translated in a balanced way across a variety of sound systems. No flexibility in adjusting individual sounds because of one track to master.

Mixing = The individual treatment of stems with focus on balancing and emphasizing each element to make them contribute to the overall sound of the whole song.

Stem Mastering = There is more control of the sounds with a stem mastering. It is recommended to group all drums, vocals, bass, sub bass, synths, instruments etc. into separated busses / groups.

 

Note: Prices are subject to change based on your project and turnaround

Mastering:

  • Stereo Mastering: $40 / Song (1 track)
  • Stem Mastering: $60 / for 2-8 stems, $80 / for 8-16 stems, $100 / above 16 stems)
  • Additional Master Formats (Radio Edits, Instrumentals, Vocals, etc.): $20 / Format. (Example 8 stems mastered (60$), one format for instrumentals and one format for a normal master = 2 formats (60$ + 20 $)

Mixing:

  • Mixing: $150+ / song, dependent on project and number of stems.
  • Mixing & Mastering: $200+ / track, dependent on project and number of stems.
  • Contact for pricing on your project (Name project aim and amount of stems or send an unmastered version of your song with aims)

 

After payment, all projects include complimentary consultation, and 1 extra revision on my end. 

Any further revisions beyond 14 days of payment on the same project will cost the same rate, but at half price (-50%).

Revision requests after finished master or mix, should have a direct aim and request (example, the bass needs to be a bit louder is an "okay" request).

 

Mastering typically takes 2-5 working days after payment and mixes typically take 5-7 working days. If you need your project finished before an upcoming deadline, let me know and I can accommodate your needs (either free of charge or an extra fee depending on current projects.)

 

Specifications of What to Send

  • WAV files preferred
  • 32 bit-depth preferred; 24 is great as well, please don't dither for 24 bit files 
  • Export your audio at the sampling rate it was recorded at, ≥44.1KHz preferred
  • -6 dB headroom preferred for the overall volume (don't normalize anything when exporting), if you use 32 bit-depth don't worry about headroom too much! (-3db is acceptable for instance also)
  • Check intro/outro and confirm that your transients or tails aren't cut off and generally check that nothing is left out from your overall aim of the song.


Title

Title your tracks and include the version, key, bpm, bit depth, and sampling rate (if you know them) in an email or the filename

References

Include/consider references (mastered .WAV/.AIFF files and/or streaming links) - If you have a mix and/or self-master, please send that to me.

 

How to export

  • A simplified preference for exporting stem mastering is Kick, Bass, Drums, Leads, Chords, Instruments/Synths, Vocals, Background Vocals, FX, Reverb/Delay Sends, and other sounds. Please separate out additional stems as you see fit or that require extra attention. For instance an effect that should not be mixed as a group.
  • Turn off everything on the master channel of your DAW.
  • When I load your unmastered files, stems, or mix in my DAW, your track in its current state should play back.

File Sharing and Deliverables

Please send multiple files and/or stems as a .ZIP.

Compress on your computer; right-click on Windows or MacOs and select compress as .Zip.
 

Please use Google Drive or WeTransfer for file sharing.

If you send with Gmail, it will go through your Google Drive :)

Let me know what format(s) you want your deliverables.

If left unspecified I will provide them as 24 bit .WAVs, at your recorded sampling rate. I can also provide .MP3s upon your request for no additional charge.

 

Payment

Payment in full for labor, materials and fees is due and payable immediately before consultation & delivery of each project.

I will invoice you once I’ve prepared and reviewed your project where you will see an order overview.

Make a request upon initial contact and I may create other payment services if necessary. For instance ask for Cashapp or Stripe and I will make time setting things up.

 

Legal Notice

Alan Olewnik is not liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance.

When you submit an inquiry or order, this does not mean your inquiry or order will be accepted. If Olewnik Creative Productions is unable to supply you with services for whatever reason, you will be informed of this and your project won’t be processed. 

Refunds will only be issued to projects canceled in this way and you will receive your refund within 5 calendar days. Rates, policies, and equipment are subject to change without displayed, written or verbal notice.

In the event that we collaborate on a project, both Parties agree that the ownership of the project shall remain the full and exclusive property of the Client, unless disclosed and agreed upon by both parties.

During the course of consulting sessions, confidential and proprietary information may be disclosed. Both the Consultant (Olewnik Creative Productions) and the Client (You) agree to keep all information shared in strict confidence and shall not disclose, promote, sell, or use such information for any purpose other than the intended educational purposes, unless disclosed and agreed upon by both parties. 

Client(s) will pay all Alan Olewnik’s attorney’s and legal fees associated with financial collection processes for any and/or all services rendered by Olewnik Creative Productions, and/or materials purchased for services or booking.
